Motivational Monday: Women with Vision

Little girls with dreams become women with vision

Me now and then...

Me now and then...

When I was a little girl, I dreamt and wished I could be a grown woman.

I watched women walk with determination and appear independent. I saw them open their wallets and buy as they pleased with no restrictions. I saw them get in their cars, own houses, and travel without having to report to anyone.

What beautiful contradictions to realize women with cars and homes also have bills and loans. Women without a working husband had to hustle that much harder for themselves. And women, who didn’t report to someone, could also feel so lonely at times.

But I think there is something to be said about the girl who dreams of being independent. She is a woman who believes she is capable of directing the course of her life (or at least the part that is capable of being controlled).

This belief opens the door for important discussion. It forces you to think about topics that will get you closer to your goal. And the lovely thing about these topics of discussion is that they force you to grow.

You began to look at life in a more mature way. You began to think of your future in a strategic line of actions.

For motivational Monday, I want to encourage you not to give up on the dreams you had as a kid. If you have hit a dose of reality in your effort at becoming independent, don’t be discouraged. There are smart ways for staying on track.

I’ve come to realize when I don’t have the answer to a problem; I can find an expert who can provide some clarity in order to make better decisions. You can look to someone around you who has tackled your same issue, and start opening the door for discussion on how you can make the right decision for you.

Or you can also seek a professional in your personal goals, (such as a fitness instructor, financial advisor, or guidance counselor) to help you map out a plan of action.

It is important to understand that you have resources around you. This goal can happen, and it will happen. Stay focused and stay on track. Remember, your questions already have answers- you just need to seek them.

Happy Monday! Good Luck!
