Just like your body needs a recovery from the long week, so does your hair.
If you're like me, throughout the week your hair goes through heat tools, processing, and weather damage. For a little R&R on your hair, I have listed my easy-to-do weekend hair treatment.
This hair treatment is really easy and low maintenance. After one mask you instantly see your hair become softer and very shiny. After continuous use of this mask, you will begin to see increased hair growth and a healthy scalp.
This is how I make my hair mask:
Step 1: First I take one spoonful of coconut oil and rub in my hands to warm up. I usually separate my hair in two sections and use one spoonful for each section.
Step 2: I start at the ends of my hair and saturate in the oil. Then I take the excess coconut oil and massage it into my scalp.
I do this in order to stimulate hair growth and condition my scalp from dry weather.
Step 3: I then take a tablespoon of almond oil and repeat the process, first starting at my ends and working my way up to the roots.
Step 4: I then take my large toothcomb and comb in sections. Once I am done combing, I throw my hair up in a messy bun to keep out of my face.
Step 5: I usually leave this conditioner on for at least 20 minutes. Sometimes an hour if I have the time.
Finally: I jump into the shower and shampoo my hair twice in order to remove the excess oils.
Once I am out of the shower, I will either let my hair air-dry or I blow dry.
I try to do my mask at least once a week, but if you have a dry, flaky scalp or have really dry damaged hair, you can do this mask every other day.
**This mask is really easy and is not meant to be measured down to detail. In fact, I usually measure with my eyes. If you have long hair, you may use just a little more product. My hair is currently medium length (a little past my shoulders). I recommend using enough product for a light coat of gloss over your head, not a grease head amount.**
Enjoy your weekend recovery!
